Thousands of people are expected to come out for the big traditional warehouse sale set to take place this weekend in downtown Rocky Mount.

The first day of the 2018 Bulluck’s Gigantic Warehouse Sale runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and continues from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the historic 80,000-square-foot Phipps Warehousing building at 218 N. Church St. adjacent to the Imperial Centre for the Arts & Sciences. The sale concludes on Feb. 25.

In addition to people coming from across the Twin Counties and Eastern North Carolina, Russ Barnes of Bulluck Furniture has said the store’s biggest sale of the year usually draws an average of 6,000 customers from the Triangle area and other parts of North Carolina. The longtime annual sale also attracts people from outside the state.

“They also come from places like Virginia, South Carolina, Ohio and as far west as California,” Barnes said. “These are people that are on our mailing list and keep up with our website. In many cases, these are people that have some connection to Rocky Mount.”

According to the store’s website, the big sale is filled with furniture, lighting and decorative accessories marked at 60 percent to 90 percent off the retail price, with items consisting of scratched and dented goods, first-quality overstocks and one-of-a-kind market samples.

The sale will have tradtional, transitional and contemporary furniture styles featuring chairs, tables, cabinets, chests, end tables, cocktail tables, dinning tables and game tables. Furniture finishes include walnut, mahogany, metal and painted finish.

The sale also will include lighting fixtures, including table lamps, floor lamps, shades and chandeliers and a variety of lamp parts. Customers also will have a selection of accessories to choose from such as ceramic animals, ceramic pots and planters, vases, bowls, figurines, mirrors, artwork, brass, silver, bronze, wood, candlesticks, boxes and other items.

“The reputation of this sale has grown around and out of the state because of the incredible finds that customers can’t get anywhere else,” Barnes said.
