KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (AP) -- Cameron Bishop tossed a three-hit complete game and Ryan Ripken doubled and singled twice, as the Delmarva Shorebirds topped the Kannapolis Intimidators 6-1 in the first game of a doubleheader on Thursday. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Shorebirds and a three-game winning streak for the Intimidators.

Bishop (6-3) picked up the win after he struck out three and walked one while allowing one run.

Up 1-0 in the third, Delmarva extended its lead when it put up three runs, including a single by Trevor Craport that scored Zach Jarrett.

Kannapolis answered in the bottom of the frame when Tyler Frost hit a solo home run to cut the deficit to three.

Blake Battenfield (5-3) went five innings, allowing four runs and 10 hits in the South Atlantic League game. He also struck out three and walked two.

The five extra-base hits for Delmarva included a season-high five doubles.
