Letter to the Editor: Public officials should live where they work

Thursday, August 15, 2019

Public officials should live in the area where they work.

This enables them to be a more active manager with a better understanding of the community, people and challenges. It also makes it easier for them to lead their departments and respond to issues from employees, general public, etc. Living in the area with families invests them more heavily in the success of the community and organizations they lead.

I hope rules will be tightened or enforced to prevent public officials from setting up temporary residences and commuting.
