Letter to the Editor: Harris story hits mark

Tuesday, March 5, 2019

I would like to thank the Telegram very much for the article concerning Keith Harris. I have never been fortunate to meet him but I do respect him for his stand. Believe me. I understand his feelings of being rejected and insulted. Anyone who has tried to show their concern for our city and its current city administration has felt the same way.

Small-Toney should never ever had hired after they knew what happened in Georgia. She should take her friends and they all pack up and see what other place they can mess up. I understand that Mayor Combs is not going to run for re-election. That is one of the best decisions he has ever made. Maybe he can keep his real estate business out of trouble. The Blackwells need to find out what parts of Tarboro Street they actually own. Mr. Knight is a story in itself.

The residents of Roanoke Rapids are just waiting for the event center, people have to pay taxes on, to look like the theater they have (and it will).

Just remember “God don't like ugly” and he will have the final say.
