Letter to the Editor: Seek truth for yourself

Monday, November 26, 2018

I remember when good sportsmanship was somewhat of a cultural virtue. Our parents taught us to be gracious in victory and defeat.

Apparently, some of our political “leaders” were never taught this lesson growing up.

Today’s Democratic Party feels entitled to power. After all, how could you dare vote for anyone but them — unless, of course, you’re a racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, money-hungry bigot who hates the poor?

Hollywood is full of liberals and they have thrown a fit because their liberal candidate in Georgia did not get elected. They are threatening to boycott Georgia. So what! Georgians don’t need Hollywood dictating what they are to think and who they are to vote for.

Being gracious in victory and defeat is still a characteristic worth having.

The left would like to replace God with government authoritarianism, individualism with collectivism, capitalism with socialism, national sovereignty with open borders, the content of a person’s character with racial and gender identity politics, representative government with activist judges to circumvent your vote and a government health care system run by politicians.

If they succeed in their goal to remake America without a single newly added amendment to the Constitution, the odds of them ever losing another election is gone. Far too many people would be dependent upon government handouts, and the left would control the purse strings.

They’d like to remake America in their own image by undermining the Constitution (our referee in the game of freedom).

If liberals promoted policies that encouraged their base to use their God-given talents to earn a living, become financially independent and use their own money to support causes and nonprofit organizations they believe in, the liberal/progressive politicians would lose their vote. Why? Their base would now be independent people with dignity and financial means.

A side-note worth thinking about:

You will not know the truth unless you find it yourself. My words, any human’s words are merely views. Truth emerges from determined personal research for truth; not searching to prove what you already believe is the truth. Search for truth daily; even after you think you have found it.

We need to personally find the truth in all matters.

Don’t let anyone tell you how to think or what is truth, investigate all matters important to you for yourself, then and only then will you know the truth.
