Winstead's no-hitter powers Eagles to win
Monday, March 25, 2019
It didn’t take long for Emily Winstead to secure a signature moment for the Rocky Mount Academy softball team.
The freshman pitcher was especially dominant on Monday in a 13-0 home win over Wilson Christian Academy. Winstead improved her record to 5-0 in tossing a no-hitter with 15 strikeouts in the run-rule shortened five-inning game.
That means all of the outs recorded by the Eagles were via strikeout.
At the plate, RMA (5-0) had 13 hits and Winstead chipped in with a 3-for-3 effort with three RBIs.
