THURSDAY'S PREP ROUNDUP: Southern Nash baseball wins second in a row

On another rainy day in the Twin Counties where most local games were postponed due to weather, Southern Nash baseball traveled to South Garner for a 4 p.m. start and left with an 8-6 victory over the Titans. 

The victory for the Firebirds (3-6, 1-1 Big East) marked their first win streak of the season, after an important walk-off conference win over 3-A power Wilson Fike on Tuesday. 

SNHS has one final non-conference game against Smithfield-Selma on Monday, then opens its second Big East series with Wilson Hunt on Tuesday. 


Wilson Hunt 10, Northern Nash 0

The Knights (2-5, 0-2 Big East) dropped a Big East contest on the road to Wilson Hunt on Thursday. They play again tomorrow at North Johnston at 6:30 p.m.


All Rocky Mount High, Rocky Mount Academy and Nash Central contests were postponed on Thursday.
