The latest updates on this week's high school football changes

The upcoming hurricane has drastically changed this week in high school football. Here are the updates as of Tuesday morning for each local team scheduled to play in Week 5.

Faith Christian and Rocky Mount Academy: The 8-man rivals are still scheduled to play their game on Wednesday at 7 p.m., according to RMA coach Terrell Hudgins. 

Tarboro and SouthWest Edgecombe: After announcing on Monday that the annual ‘Function at the Junction’ would be moved to Wednesday, it has now been announced that the game will be postponed until a to-be-determined date. 

Rocky Mount High: The Gryphons, who took a bye week in Week 4, have cancelled their game against Havelock, according to an early-Tuesday morning email from Michael Gainey. 

Southern Nash: The Firebirds’ schedule gamed with Wake Forest has been postponed and moved to Thursday, Sept. 27.

Northern Nash: The Knights originally announced their home game against Elizabeth City Northeastern would be moved to Wednesday, then called an audible and rescheduled the game for Monday, Sept. 17.

Nash Central: The Bulldogs have postponed their game on Friday against Goldsboro. It will likely not be made up, according to athletics director Kyle Bain. 

North Edgecombe: The Warriors’ game against South Creek will be cancelled, according to South Creek’s football coach.

Rocky Mount Prep: The Jaguars originally rescheduled their game to be played Wednesday at Louisburg, but it was announced on Tuesday night that the game would be moved to Sept. 24 at 6 p.m.
