Rocky Mount police are reminding people not to leave valuables in their vehicles after several items were recently stolen from a minivan parked on Wesleyan Boulevard.
“Be vigilant to remove any items in plain sight,” said Sgt. Brad Summerlin, spokesman for the Rocky Mount Police Department.
Summerlin suggested folks manually lock their car doors and place valuables in the trunk.
The stolen items were taken between 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. March 8 from an unlocked 2005 gray Ford Winstar minivan parked on the 700 block of North Wesleyan Boulevard.
Stolen was a leather purse, a Wells Fargo debit card, a paycheck from IHOP, a Maryland drivers license and $200 in cash, according to a police report.
