Female motorist wounded by shots fired at car

Rocky Mount police are investigating a Tuesday night shooting in which a female motorist was struck by gunfire.
Cpl. Brad Summerlin of the Rocky Mount Police Department said officers received a shots fired call about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at 125 West Grand Ave., where they found a 22-year-old woman who had been struck by gunfire along with her. Summerlin said the woman was transported to Nash UNC Health Care and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Summerlin said investigators later learned that the incident happened at the 500 block of Mill Street, and authorities said the woman told them that the shots were fired from a gold Infiniti.
