Rocky Mount police are waiting on test results of a quarantined cat that bit an officer last week.
Police were called to a home on Crosswinds Drive at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday by a pet owner whose cat was acting aggressive.
Officers tried to help the owner secure the cat in a carrier and the cat bit an officer on the hand several times. The cat was eventually secured and the officer treated, said police spokesman Cpl. Brad Summerlin.
The cat was turned over to animal control for testing.
“The officer is doing fine,” Summerlin said.
