Ta’Jerick Jones, a student at Edgecombe Community College, recently joined the ladies of the Rocky Mount Garden Club for their annual luncheon at The Main Course.

The club awards a scholarship each year during their luncheon.

Jones was chosen as this year’s recipient of the scholarship.

He earned an associate dgree at Edgecombe Community College, where he worked as a work-study student throughout his two years attending. He will be attending N.C. State University in the fall with plans to major in criminology. Jones has a long-term goal to attend law school once he completes his bachelor’s degree.

The club awards a local community college student with a scholarship each spring at their luncheon as one of their civic projects.
