A local lawmaker on Friday is hosting another town hall meeting in Rocky Mount.
State Rep. James Gailliard, D-Nash, is set to hear from local residents about issues that are most important to them, provide updates on actions taken by the legislature and rally support for progressive legislation.
Gailliard said he is committed to having one-on-one conversations with constituents early and often, as he works to best represent the community and energize voters for the future.
The meeting is set for 6-7 p.m. on Friday at Moe & D’s Restaurant and Grill at 123 S. Church St. in downtown Rocky Mount.
Gailliard last hosted a town hall on March 29 at Trax Coffee Bar in Station Square and previously said he plans to hold 18 other such meetings in the future.
“I’m not afraid of the tough questions,” he told the Telegram in a previous interview.
