The Rocky Mount Senior Center reopened this week after being closed for a month because of maintenance issues.
The center’s staff welcomed back its members Tuesday during an early morning breakfast at the facility at 427 S. Church St. in downtown Rocky Mount. All classes, including those that use the indoor pool facility, have resumed at the center.
“It is great to have our Rocky Mount Senior Center family back together under one roof,” Rocky Mount Parks and Recreation Director Elton Daniels said. “I’d like to thank our Parks and Recreation staff, other city departments that assisted with repairs and members of the Senior Center for their patience during the past month as well as their commitment to ensuring that our programs would continue while repairs were completed.”
