Girl Scout touts cookie program

Girl Scout Junior Cara Cotugno of Nashville Troop #611 has dedicated her time to raising awareness of Operation Cookie Drop, a community service project that brings Girl Scout Cookies to military men and women deployed away from home.

She spoke to the Rocky Mount Marine Corps League, whose members donated $130 toward the project this year and also spoke to the Coopers Fire and Rescue squad, which for the third year in a row donated $200 to Operation Cookie Drop.

Cookies donated during this year’s Girl Scouts Operation Cookie Drop will be sent out through the USO in Jacksonville, Cherry Point in Havelock, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, Fort Bragg near Fayetteville, NC Packs 4 Patriots in Ayden and more to be delivered to military personnel.
