The Rocky Mount Public Works and Water Resources Department will offer loose leaf collection during specified weeks in January, February and March.

For the duration of loose leaf collection, crews collect loose leaves and pine straw on alternating weeks between designated north and south routes.

Crews will collect leaves on the north route beginning this week and the weeks Feb.10 and March 17. Collection dates on the south route will be the weeks of Jan. 14, Feb. 17 and March 24.

When participating in loose leaf collection, do not rake leaves or yard waste into the street, rake leaves to the curb no later than at 7 a.m. on the Mondayof your collection week to guarantee removal. Crews will pass by each house only once and not necessarily on the resident's regular solid waste collection day.

Loose leaf collection is for leaves and pine straw only. All loose-leaf piles must be free of trash, sticks, limbs, bottles, cans and other debris.
