Pro golfer to participate in NCC tourney

Professional golfer Justin Moose will take part in Nash Community College’s 29th annual Student Scholarship Golf Classic on Oct. 5 at Benvenue Country Club.
Moose is ranked 13th in the world with a 468-yard longest drive in competition, 147 mph swing speed and 219 mph ball speed.
The annual tournament raises funds to assist NCC students pursuing their educational goals. At the tournament, Moose will be on a Par 5 hole where any team making a qualifying donation on his tee box will have the opportunity to win a three-day trip to Pebble Beach in Monterey, Calif. Moose will drive the ball 400-plus yards, giving contestants a chance to hole out from his drive making a Double Eagle, Albatross or hole in two and win.
The winner will receive American Airlines airfare for two to San Francisco and two nights at Pebble Beach Lodge plus three rounds of golf for two at Pebble Beach, Spyglass and Spanish Bay. The trip is valued is $5,000.
Additionally, the Student Scholarship Golf Classic planning committee will host a pre-tournament party from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 4 in the NCC Business and Industry Center that will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres, wine and NCC’s special craft brews, entertainment, a silent auction, ball drop board and chipping contest.
