Trustees sworn in to ECC board

A new member of the Edgecombe Community College Board of Trustees was officially sworn in and a second member was reappointed at the board’s recent quarterly meeting.
The Edgecombe County Board of Education appointed Ricky Thompson of Tarboro to the board. Thompson is a financial advisor with Edward Jones.
Gloria Wiggins-Hicks, a trustee since 1997, was reappointed to the board by the Edgecombe County Board of Commissioners. She serves as vice chairwoman of the board and also sits on the executive board of the N.C. Association of Community College Trustees.
Wiggins-Hicks is a retired community relations manager of Cummins Rocky Mount Engine Plant.
The ECC Board of Trustees has 12 members, each serving a four-year term. The governor, the Edgecombe County Board of Education and the Edgecombe County Board of Commissioners each appoint four members.
