Family time at the Harrison Family YMCA is about giving families as a unit, and as individuals, the opportunities to deepen relationships, develop new skills and interests, improve their health and well-being and connect to the community.
The YMCA has always been a place where families can play and be active together, and that’s more important than ever. Whether the activities are physical — like sports or exercise classes — or more recreational like swimming, camping, cooking and arts, we want families doing them together because you’ll live healthier and make memories for a lifetime.
The Harrison Family YMCA offers the community various family events throughout the year including their annual Healthy Kids Day, Fall Family Festival, and Spring Easter Family Event.
These events are open to the community free of charge, thanks to YMCA annual campaign donors. Outside of these large events, the YMCA now offers creative activities throughout the year for families including dive in movie nights, kickball and picnic evenings, parents’ nights out with fun for the kids, and more! These activities are also open to the community at a small fee.
As a YMCA member, all will receive a welcoming and family friendly atmosphere with access to the entire facility. With the racquetball courts, basketball courts, work out areas, teen center and pool, you are sure to find something to do for everyone in your family. Peace of mind is also provided with the Child Watch and Kids Discovery Zone programs, free to all members.
Child Watch allows parents to keep up with their healthy lifestyle at the Y, while nurturing staff take care of the children. Kids Discovery Zone is designed to provide a supervised, innovative programming experience for kids, giving parents some time to run their errands and get stuff done! The kids are well taken care of and more than entertained with our Discovery Zone list of activities such as arts and crafts, swimming, science projects, and cooking demonstrations. YMCA members also receive discounts on other programming to get involved in such as swim lessons, gymnastics, youth basketball, toddler sports and more.
