Pay It Forward Civitan delivered 63 Easter baskets to Tri-County Industries employees on March 13.
This is the club’s eighth annual Easter Basket project, and the third year that Tri-County has been the recipient of the award-winning baskets. PIF Board member Robin Sanders chaired the project again this year. The baskets are made possible thanks to community donations and prepared by Civitan members and friends.
Pay It Forward also hosted an Easter party for the group. PIF Board member Linda Burgess planned the event, full of good fun and sweet treats. Her sister, Sue Brinkley, thrilled the group with a wonderful rendition of “God Bless America,” which brought tears to many eyes. The grand finale again this year was each employee receiving a ball cap, their favorite surprise. Thanks to all who helped with this memorable event!
Civitan is an organization of volunteer service clubs around the world, dedicated to helping people in their own communities. Pay It Forward has many ongoing projects, including Back Pack Buddies, which provides 60 children in our community with weekend meals through a grant from Tyson Foods. They are committed to “Paying It Forward” and making a difference in Nash and Edgecombe counties.
Pay It Forward Civitan meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the second Monday of the month at Ribeye’s in Nashville.
