City Council to hold annual retreat

The Rocky Mount City Council is set to hold its annual retreat this week in Wilmington.

The Council will meet from noon today until Friday at the Embassy Suites, 9 Estell Lee Place in the Port City.

Topics for discussion include a financial update, marketing strategies, an update on the Rocky Mount Event Center, community and business development, Battle Park and ecotourism, said Tameka Kenan-Norman, the city's chief communications and marketing officer.

The council has held recent retreats at the DoubleTree hotel in downtown Charlotte, the Marriott in Greensboro, the School of Government at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and the Capital Broadcasting office in Durham.
