Nash Community College’s Conference Center Manager Linda Snell of Pinetops was selected by her peers as the 2017 J. Edgar and Peggie T. Moore Staff Award recipient.
She has been employed with Nash Community College since 2014. Thanks to Snell’s exceptional work, NCC’s meeting facilities are in high demand as a known resource to the local community and region. The Nash Community College conference centers allow the college to host events that not only engage current students, but also attract the local community to campus providing campus awareness to the community.
Snell attended Lock Haven State College. As a committed lifelong learner, she also obtained the credential of Certified Hotel Administrator. She is known for providing exemplary customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
A member of the Twin County Hall of Fame Board of Directors stated, “Linda and her team are great. The workers are there to clean up and set up. Linda is easy to work with.”
The board is one of many groups coordinating events inviting hundreds of community members into the Business and Industry Center each year.
Snell plans full-scope events, often meeting with several external clients each day. Her expertise is called upon regularly by internal and external stakeholders, and her stewardship of college resources is second to none.
The Staff Award is an annual award recognizing the outstanding work ethic of a non-instructional employee at the college. In 2004, J. Edgar and Peggie T. Moore of Rocky Mount established a stipend for the NCC Staff Award acknowledging the achievement of the recipient.
