The Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club at Nash Central High School in partnership with the Youth Pastor’s Coalition is holding the sixth annual After Exam Jam Concert at 6 p.m. Jan. 27 at Red Oak Baptist Family Life Center.

This event is a fundraiser for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club and the college and camp scholarship programs it sponsors. The other Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club groups in the surrounding area schools have also been given the opportunity to sell tickets in order to raise money for their own club members to receive scholarships for Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club camps.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club is the largest Christian sports organization and at Nash Central High School it focuses on fellowship together with other Christians and serving Christ. The club’s college scholarship was started three years ago by a generous donation, and the club’s leadership camp scholarship was started in memory of Coach Mike Caffey, who was instrumental in starting the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club club at Nash Central High School and worked diligently in the community to promote the ideals of the club.

The club has grown its funds through various fundraisers in the past and its After Exam Jam has become its biggest fundraiser for the past four years; we hope it will be again this year. Various churches, bands, solo singers, dancers and restaurants donate all entertainment, venue location and equipment as well as food and drinks for our concessions.

Many other community sponsors also donate funds to the event so that we can offer refreshments as a part of the ticket price. Because of this all proceeds from ticket sales go directly to our organization and the scholarship accounts. Last year, the club awarded $1,000 in college scholarships and $400 in Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club Leadership camp scholarships.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased in advance for $5 through any club member or by contacting them at Nash Central High School. Tickets at the door will be available for $7.

Anyone who would like to support one of the other Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club programs in the district can contact the sponsor at that school to purchase a ticket from them directly. This event is one of great fun and fellowship and is appropriate for all age groups.

Contact Jessica Horne or Heather Thompson at Nash Central High School if you have any questions or would like to purchase tickets.
