WHIG-TV recently completed its move to N.C. Wesleyan College’s campus.

The station will be broadcasting live from its new studio in the Gateway Technology Center.

WHIG-TV launched in October 1997 as the community news channel for the Tri-Counties. It can be found on local television stations and online. WHIG-TV provides additional services including special event broadcasting, public service announcements, promoting businesses and filming and editing event footage.

“We are excited to welcome WHIG-TV to our campus,” said Wesleyan President Dr. Dewey Clark. “This opens the door to many partnership opportunities that will supplement and support some of our academic programs.”

Through their partnership with Wesleyan, WHIG-TV will add more programming, including broadcasting Wesleyan athletic events, adding more entertainment programs to the line-up such as live bands, and student interns will produce a Wesleyan Show that will air once a week for 30 minutes.

“We are excited to partner with North Carolina Wesleyan College and their new Communication program,” said Sandra Smith, president of WHIG-TV. “We look forward to assisting in the development of skills through internship opportunities for careers in the Television Industry. The college is growing and we are excited to grow with it.”
