Art students from across the Edgecombe County Public Schools district were recently honored at the Central Services Arts Gallery Reception in the Mobley Atrium at Edgecombe Community College.

Art teachers selected one piece of artwork from each school created during the school year to showcase. The winning artwork will be on display in a Central Services building for the next several months.

Fall 2017 honorees are :

■ Bryan Tobar — Grade 5, G.W. Bulluck Elementary School; Art Teacher: Ashely Cook

■ Makenzie Perdue — Grade 5, G.W. Carver Elementary School; Art Teacher: Belinda Coston

■ GiKaley Weathersbee — Grade 2, Coker-Wimberly Elementary School; Art Teacher: Carlton Beaman

■ Ja-Qwayleah Brinson — Grade 4, Princeville Elementary School; Art Teacher: Carlton Beaman

■ Tyquavion Cofield — Grade 3, Stocks Elementary School; Art Teacher: Deidra Hunter

■ Mar’kel Moody — Grade 4, Martin Millenium Academy; Art Teacher: Cora Wooten

■ Stanley Sivels — Grade 8, W.A. Patillo Middle School; Art Teacher: Alisha Lassiter

■ Shamar Howington — Grade 8, Phillips Middle School; Art Teacher: Katelyn Capps
