Engineer receives Young Alumni Award

Khalia Braswell recently was inducted into the 2017 Hall of Fame Ceremony and Young Alumni Awards Presentation at N.C. State University for Outstanding Alumni in the Computer Science Department.

Khalia is now a user experience engineer at Apple in Cupertino, Calif., where she helps design experiences for internal applications in Apple’s IT department. She lives in Oakland, Calif., and is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc and the national Society of Black Engineers.

Khalia is a graduate of N.C. State University with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in Information Technology from UNC-Charlotte. She is the daughter of Danielle and Marcus Braswell and granddaughter of Ethel Braswell and Whilmenia Battle of Rocky Mount.
