City to offer anniversary tours

The city of Rocky Mount, which was founded in 1867, is offering three tour opportunities this weekend as part of its 150th anniversary celebration. The three-hour tours are free and will be led by Downtown Development Manager John Jesso.

The first tour will take place from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday; the second will be offered from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Friday and the third will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. The stops will include areas in downtown Rocky Mount, NC Wesleyan College, Nash Community College, Nash UNC Healthcare and Rocky Mount Mills.

All participants will be transported from the Station Square parking lot. To sign up for the downtown tours, send an e-mail to tours@rockymountnc.gov, or call 252-972-1319.
