Spring Arbor of Rocky Mount recently sponsored an Art Show Exhibit to showcase the painting talent of resident Annie Jackson.

It is hard to imagine that Jackson had no idea of her wonderful talent until she retired in 1991. With nudging from her sister-in-law, they began taking classes together at the old Rocky Mount Arts Center and continued painting there until the floodwaters of Hurricnae Floyd caused them to relocate their painting studio to the old rescue building in Momeyer.

When Annie’s daughters began decorating her room with her paintings, Spring Arbor officials just knew they couldn’t let her keep them a secret. Once Jackson became settled she agreed, with a little encouragement, to allow us to shine a spotlight on her paintings,
