The Rocky Mount Area Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Month winner for November is Station Square.

Ben Braddock and his business partner Andy McFie purchased the facility from Chambliss and Rabil Commercial Realty about a year and a half ago. Since the purchase of the building, they have added several new companies and office spaces to accommodate the growing number of entrepreneurs in the Twin Counties such as Station Square Records, Mutley Crew, Trax Coffee Bar and soon-to-open Bin & Barrel Wine Bar and Bottles.

The location encompasses a city block in downtown Rocky Mount. It is located next to the historic Helen P. Gay Train Station and features storefronts on Main Street, offices on Church Street and courtyard shops on Nash Street.

Station Square offers a variety of flexible and collaborative work spaces for businesses and organizations of all sizes. It has a large meeting space for a classroom that will seat up to 50 people or a networking function that could hold up to 75 people. The furnished office space rents for $500 per month and includes utilities (water, electric, HVAC), internet, janitorial services and ample parking. Its meeting space is currently renting for $100 per month and includes a training room, board room that seats 10 and meeting rooms that seat four. All spaces have access to Wi-Fi.

The team at Station Square are always in the community, ready and willing to offer not only their time but their financial support to several local organizations. They have teamed up with several businesses to have fundraisers in the community such as the Twin Counties Sugar Run.

After Hurricane Florence, they allowed two trailers provided by Crown LSP to be stationed in their parking lot so that the community could provide hurricane relief items for people in the surrounding areas who were affected. Also, in observance of Domestic Violence Awareness month, they turned their outside lights purple in the courtyard area. This along with so many other events, sponsorships and time are just a few of the things Ben and his team support in the Twin Counties.

The Chamber staff, Small Business Committee, ambassadors and several Chamber members had the pleasure on Nov. 15 of celebrating with the team at Station Square. The Chamber was able to honor Ben and the Director of Operations Anne Craig as a thank you for their service to the area.

If you see the Ben or Anne congratulate them on being this month’s winner and just say a simple thank you for their service and continued assistance in redeveloping downtown Rocky Mount.

Station Square can be contacted at 252-388-8020 or you can visit their website to receive information on their upcoming events and office spaces they have available to rent at stationsquarenc.com.

Every month the Rocky Mount Area Chamber of Commerce selects a Small Business of the Month winner from their membership. The Small Business of the Month winners are selected based on several categories after nominations are received. The selection committee evaluates items such as great customer service, community involvement, overall business growth and much more when selecting the winner of the award.
