Healthy Transformations Counseling, a new business that will serve the community, recently opened in Enfield.

Nicole Benjamin, licensed professional counselor and owner of Healthy Transformations Counseling, grew up in Enfield but left to pursue her studies.

"Enfield is my home, and I always wanted to come back and give back,” she said. “I wanted to show that we care and to inspire the citizens to be more vested as well."

Benjamin attended N.C. Central University in Durham and received her master’s degree from the University of Alabama. She has been in the mental health field for the past 12 years, where her primary focus has been on children who have experienced trauma.

Healthy Transformations Counseling provides services to adults and children with mental and substance abuse related disorders. Benjamin and her associates are trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Clinical Assessments, childhood obesity counseling and individual, family and group counseling in the office, home and schools. They believe in "transforming lives while creating healthier minds and bodies."

Mayor Wayne Anderson said that with the opening of Healthy Transformations Counseling, Enfield is indeed “looking up and focused on the future.”

In addition to the Enfield office, there is a corporate office in Rocky Mount and a Raleigh location as well. For more information on Healthy Transformations Counseling, call 252-977-0201
