People across the Twin Counties recently came out to celebrate the ribbon cutting of Evans Electrical Services’ new 6,500-square-foot facility at 2449 Eastern Ave. in Rocky Mount.

Evans Electrical Services, which provides specialized multi-crafted industrial support services for manufacturers across North Carolina, was part of the SpringBoardNC’s entrepreneurial program last summer. Dwayne Evans, owner and president of Evans Electrical Services, said the ribbon-cutting was coordinated to emphasize the value of what SpringBoardNC offers and how his business has grown to 25 employees.

“We started our business back in February 2016 and in less than a year, we have grown it into a successful and stable company that provides much-needed, well-paid work for local craftsmen and also invests heavily in local community businesses that supply our needs,” Evans said. “Small businesses form the backbone of any town or area. Supporting them will help build a community with stability, strength and purpose. We could not have achieved our success without this support which came from two notable organizations. SpringBoardNC provided experienced guidance and training. Carolina Small Business Development Fund provided the funds we need to launch. We are deeply grateful to them both.”

Martin Crompton, head of business development of Evans Electrical Services, said the company has a goal to provide 100 local, well-paid jobs within three years and invest in the local community for their business needs. Evans Electrical Services has provided $150,000 in local wages and $120,000 has been spent with local businesses, Crompton added.
