Southern Bank names chief credit officer

Southern Bank Senior Vice President and Senior Credit Officer Judy Lynn has been promoted to chief credit officer for the bank.

The announcement was made by Southern Bank Chairman and Chief Executive Officer J. Grey Morgan.

“We are very pleased that Judy has accepted this new leadership role for our bank,” Morgan said. “Judy has been in banking for over 29 years and has served Southern Bank with distinction over the past 15 years. She brings a vast amount of knowledge and credit experience and will most certainly do a tremendous job for our company in this role.”

A native of Raleigh, Lynn is a graduate of the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in finance. She is also a graduate of the North Carolina School of Banking, which is held at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.

Lynn is a member of Gibson Memorial United Methodist Church and resides in Spring Hope with her husband Jay. She has two children, John and Jamie.
