Local photographer earns artistic awards

Five pieces created by Angela Blankenship-Daly of Heirloom Portraits in Rocky Mount have recently been accepted into the General Collection of Professional Photographers of North Carolina's 2018 State Photographic Competition.
This competition is held in conjunction with PPNC’s annual expo and trade show for professional and aspiring photographers. The General Collection includes images earning a score of 80 or above out of 100. A panel of five jurors from across the United States selected the top photographs from 283 submitted entries at the Sheraton Imperial in Durham.
Titled “Her Protector,” Daly’s portrait earned the honor of second place in the Children’s Portrait Open category.
“Fleeting” also earned the prestigious Best in Show Award. This portrait earned a perfect 100 out of 100 and was first place in the Artist category.
Daly also received the CPP Award for the highest scoring print of those with the Certified Professional Photographer status.
Professional Photographers of North Carolina Professional Photographers of North Carolina is the largest North Carolina nonprofit association created by professional photographers, for professional photographs.
