BANNER ELK – Hollie Michelle Neighbors and Glen Donal Templeton were married at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 7, 2017 at the top of the mountain of Banner Elk Winery and Villa.
Dr. Rob Westlund of Rocky Mount, performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of H. Stanley and Mary Margaret Neighbors. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jerry P. Black and the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard Neighbors.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Cheryl Templeton and the late Daniel Templeton. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Donald Walling and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Templeton.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents.
The bride’s gown was a Madeline Gardner design with embroidered appliques with crystal beading on delicate white chiffon. For flowers the bride carried a mixture of daisies, roses, lilies, orchids, asters and baby’s breath.
Laurel Currie of Greenville and Christy Freeman of Raleigh, both friends of the bride, served as matrons of honor.
Bridesmaids were Brittany Reuter of Raleigh, Hallie Kuhne of Winterville, Kaitlyn Kingston of Garner, Karrah Gantz of Rochester, NY, Elizabeth Garcia of Charlotte, Janna Webber of St. Louis, Mo, Dea Crowe of Lenoir, Stephanie Ball of Concord and Melisa Carlton of Holly Springs, all friends of the bride.
Adam Fackler of Fort Wayne, IN. and Robbie Rappole of Raleigh, both friends of the groom, served as best man.
Groomsmen were Justin Williamson of Kendalville, IN, Landon Shuff of Washington, DC, Reid Fisher of Pittsburgh, PA, James Currie of Greenville, Brian Shideler of Raleigh, Dave Shideler of Califon, NJ, Nathan Fackler of Baltimore, MD, Brandon Whitaker and Luke Marshaus both of Raleigh, and all friends of the groom.
Remi Washington, Amie Wilson and Rosie Wilson, all nieces of the groom , served as flower girls.
Music was provided by Mohr Fun Events and Patsy Gilliland from Rocky Mount was the vocalist during the ceremony. She sang “When I Say I Do” as Hollie walked down the aisle with her dad. Mrs. Gilliland also sang “Raise Me Up” after the couple said their vows.
A reception was held at Banner Elk Winery with dinner and dancing.
Following a wedding trip to Hawaii the couple will live in Memphis, Tennessee.
The bride graduated from Northern Nash High School and Appalachian State University and was a member of the National Honors Society of Colligate Scholars. She is employed by Cisco in Memphis, TN.
The groom graduated from Carroll High School in Fort Wayne, IN and Ball State University. He is employed by Smith and Nephew in Memphis, TN.
On Nov. 12, 2016, an engagement party was hosted by Hope and Doug Brown Melisa Carlton and Brittany Reuter, at the Brown’s home in Cary.
On June 8, 2017, a lingerie party was hosted by the bridesmaids in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
June 8-10, 2017 a bachelorette party was hosted by the bridesmaids in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
On July 8, 2017 a bridal shower was hosted by Cheryl Templeton, Allison Washington and Sarah Wilson in Fort Wayne, IN.
On Sept. 9, 2017, a bridal shower was hosted by Mary Margaret Neighbors at Englewood Presbyterian Church, in Rocky Mount.
On Oct. 6, 2017 a bridesmaid luncheon was hosted by Mary Margaret Neighbors at the Red Onion Café in Boone, NC.
On Oct. 6, 2017 a rehearsal dinner was hosted by Cheryl Templeton at the barn at the Banner Elk Winery.
