The Rocky Mount Event Center is an SFM managed facility that will open in September of 2018, in Rocky Mount, NC which is located in the eastern part of the state. The first class facility is comprised of 165,000 square feet that will have the capacity to host multi-courts tournament, trade shows, meetings, concerts and community events. The facility also has 15,000 square foot
family entertainment center that has a variety of interactive games, ropes course, climbing walls and other family friendly activates.
POSITION SUMMARY: The responsibility of Sales & Events Manager will maximize sales revenues through tournament sales, event sales, referrals, rebooking strategies, assisting in client retention, banquet food, banquet beverage, and facility rental, net amounts received for equipment rental, and pre-sold merchandise for groups. This is accomplished through networking, solicitations, grass roots sales and attaining or exceeding the annual budget revenue goals and booking goals for al RMEC events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Develop Sales plan that target
specific demographics and customers to increase event and rental revenue • Proactively soliciting new business opportunities via sales calls and in person client presentations • Build new leads to increase the size of the event client database via cold calls and market prospecting • Validate space availability with knowledge of food & beverage minimums • Craft attractive event proposals, negotiate contracts, event detailing, BEOs • Host site visits and sales generating promotional events in our venues • Networking event attendance and membership maintenance • Maintain event calendar to achieve maximum booking at all facilities • Work closely with the operations team to create the most logistical plan for execution • Build accurate and complete event orders including complete and easy to execute setup and timelines for each event • Verify all supplies are readily available, on premise and organized per management request • Coordinate with Service Managers to ensure accurate staffing • Serve as Guests primary POC to guarantee all needs are met and expectations are exceeded • Serve as MOD
QUALIFICATIONS: • the hospitality i dustry • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)and 6 years of related experience in sales, preferably in hospitality/service industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience • At least 3 year of managing a sales department/
team • Strong sales skills required • Sales training experience • Proficient in computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and CRM • Solid time management, organization and prioritization skills; ability to work with little or no direct supervision • Excellent customer service orientation and focus on customer satisfaction required • Strong leadership and people skills, plus the ability to build and foster a team environment desired WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSCIAL EFFORT: • Working environment is fastpaced • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. infrequently • Limited exposure to physical risk • Limited physical effort required • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment .
